The talk and chatter of my family
over the hum of the radio,
beneath the conversations of the sheep
and the rustle of plants, dancing in the wind.
All this takes place over the backdrop
of an overgrown garden.

Chooks and a glossy grey rooster peek out from behind fences.
Bees dart from blossom tree to blossom tree
treating themselves in the honey scents.
The yet-to-come daffodils, tulips, and
snowdrops push green leaves up from the dirt
to join the pollen floating off the trees,
and sneaking up the noses of hayfever sufferers.
Home.
