Upoko Tuarima

“Kāore ia i konei, e te tau,” te kōrero o Māmā. Kei te māharahara ia.
“Kei hea ia? Kei konei ngā kōtiro?” Te pātai o Riki.
“Āe! Kei a rātou rūma … E Riki, kei te whakamā a Ari i tētahi mea. Ki tōku mōhio, e pā kau ana ki te aituā o Ted inanahi nei. Nā, kei te tino pukuriri a Kiri – ki a tāua rawa atu.”
Ka tōmau te reo o Māmā. “Me kōrero tāua ki a ia. Me kōrero koe ki a ia, e Riki. Me matua whākina a Ari ināia tonu nei. E whakapono ana a Kiri, mā tōna mōhio ki āu raruraru pānui e māmā anō ai tōna wairua.”
“Kua kīa kētia e au, kaua e whakatoimaha i a ia ki taua mōhiotanga. Ka pai noa iho ia.” Ka haria e Pāpā ngā tāora. “Me uwhiuwhi ahau. E hiahia hoki ana ki te kōrero ki a Koro.” te kōrero a Pāpā i a ia ka hīkoi ki te hīrere.
