My name is Alice Mcpike…
I am 12 years old and I am in year 8. I like reading, writing, swimming and going on adventures. I live in Otago so there is always an adventure to do, whether it be climbing a mountain or swimming in a lake. When I started writing in year six I used to use too many adjectives. I like to think that I have improved. When I got second in the Write On competition I was incredibly happy, not just for the prize but also because I love the honor of being published. My advice to anyone who wants to be a writer is always follow your dreams, and if you find a boring word in your writing, stretch the limits to find an interesting one. I hope you liked my poem.
