Fiona Sussman is an award-winning author living in Auckland. The former GP hung up her stethoscope 15 years ago to pursue a long-held dream to write. Both her novels, ‘Shifting Colours’ and ‘The Last Time We Spoke’, have been published internationally. ‘The Last Time We Spoke’ won the Ngaio Marsh Award 2017 for Best Crime Novel in NZ, and was shortlisted for the NZ Heritage Award 2016. An early draft won the Kobo/NZ Society of Authors Publishing Prize. She is currently completing her third novel.
Fiona also writes short stories. A number have been broadcast on radio, and her writing has had success in local and international writing competitions.
Fiona divides her time between writing, public speaking, and helping manage the charitable surgical service she and her husband established.
